The HSRC Press website is an implementation of the proprietary X-Cart E-Commerce system. The sales of online HSRC Press titles quadrupled within the first two years of going live. The site features an advanced search facility, RSS feeds, Podcasts, user profile management and order history. The HSRC Press make use of the open access publishing model, all chapters of titles can therefore be downloaded in PDF format. So many PDFs have been downloaded that a dedicated media server was setup in Germany to manage the large bandwidth requirements. The site also contains a jQuery suggest form which allows users to instantly find the titles they are looking for.
